In the second letter to the churches in the book of revelation, we look at the church of Smyrna. The believers in Smyrna lived in a city Christ called "the synagogue of Satan." It was a tough place to live with a high level of persecution. Smyrna came to be known as "the martyr church." Christ called them to be faithful and they would gain a crown of life.
