Its easy to fall into the trap of thinking that if we don't do anything bad we must be good people. In this message Philip Alley reminds us that failing to do good, is also wrong. It's not enough to avoid being evil, we must also strive to serve and please God. Failing to do what God asks are called sins of omission. This message follows on from last weeks message on Initiative, and urges the listener to go beyond just the idea that taking action is good and brings blessing, but to also realise that serving God is required. Using 5 different Bible parables taught by Christ, Philip shows that doing nothing is considered wicked and lazy by God. He encourages us to action for the sake of the Kingdom.
