John Alley begins this message by taking the parable of the tax collector and the Pharisee as told by Jesus, to highlight the difference in attitude between the Pharisee, who was full of self righteousness, and that of the tax collector. It is the tax collector, says John, who displayed the attitude of heart that should be the one held by all who would seek God. The qualities of humility, holy fear, shame and brokenness, and sorrow for sin are all found in the approach of the tax collector to God. And it was the tax collector, not the Pharisee, who was seen as righteous before God. John then goes on to read some prophetic words that have come in recent days. The common them of these is that something big is about to come, and the people of God need to be ready. This message will inspire the listener to a deeper and closer walk with our Lord.
