In View of The Cross: “Will You Believe In Me?” – What Did Jesus Mean?

David Hood begins this challenging message with a look at the gospel of John, chapter 12. In this passage we see Jesus speaking to the people on the subject of believing in him, and in the Father who sent him. David asks the question, “What does it mean to believe?” Is it mental assent or intellectual thought? David illustrates from the Scriptures that the kind of believing that Jesus referred to was a belief that requires action. The apostle James spoke of the need to back up our faith with good works, even going so far as to say that “faith without deeds is dead” (James 2:26). David exhorts the listener to yield to the truth and to make certain of their salvation.
