A Call to the Solemn Assembly

Beginning with the original Old Testament nature of the Solemn Assembly as a day of restraint for the purpose of joy and celebration, John Alley then goes on to draw from the Scriptures an outline of the type of Solemn Assembly called by the prophets in times of great national need. The book of Joel illustrates the Solemn Assembly as a day for mourning and weeping, repentance and prayer for mercy.

John then outlines the way in which the taunts of an enemy release a demonic power, before giving an outline of the prayers needed to deal with such a need.
